走出嘲諷陰霾 遲緩兒泳奪金牌

新化高工高二女生曾怡瑄，1歲時就被父母親發現有發展遲緩的現象，從小就經常被同學嘲諷，但在家人的鼓勵下，寄情游泳找回自信，從小至今不但拿下超過50面的國內游泳比賽獎牌，日前參加洛杉磯夏季世界特殊奧林匹克運動會，勇奪游泳200公尺混合式金牌與100公尺蛙式銅牌。

新化高工綜職科2年級的曾怡瑄，父親在南科上班，母親陳紅柑是專職家庭主婦，還有1個姊姊和1個妹妹。1歲左右，父母就發現她發展遲緩，5歲時，父母安排她跟妹妹去學游泳，發現她有運動細胞，連溜冰、攀岩，她都非常有興趣。

自從曾怡瑄寄情游泳後，國小開始參加國內各機構舉辦的游泳比賽，累積至少拿下超過50面獎牌。

今年首度代表我國參加7月底到8月初舉辦的美國洛杉磯舉辦的夏季世界特殊奧運，她一舉拿下1金與1銅，難能可貴，校長陳啟聰10日特別公開表揚。

陳紅柑表示，曾怡瑄剛開始是為了改善過敏體質，才接觸游泳，希望能鍛鍊身體，卻意外發現她的潛能，初學時，受限於智能障礙的理解能力，起步較晚，但勤能補拙，愛上游泳後實力突飛猛進，連教練都很訝異。

曾怡瑄小時候常被取笑是笨蛋、傻瓜，心裡很受傷，但是母親陳紅柑都會以「每個人都會有自己的強項」來鼓勵她，加上姊姊、妹妹也都對她很好，上國中後，也因為她的卓越表現，讓那些嘲諷的同學啞口無言，也獲得接納，後來也和不少同學成為好朋友。

陳紅柑說，女兒不太會講話，但只要一下水，動作就非常俐落，迅速的泳技，經常吸引同學目光，「她真的是靠著努力，游出自信心與成就感。」
